SPEAK WITH AN EXPERT

This journey in luxury wellness has always been about more than beauty it’s about helping people reconnect with themselves. True wellness lives in balance, human connection, emotional wellbeing, and purpose. Through every experience, leadership role, and guest interaction, the mission remains the same: to inspire healthier, more meaningful lives where luxury is not only seen, but deeply felt from within.

  • Your career has taken you from Serbia to leading luxury wellness initiatives across internationally recognized resorts in Mexico. What inspired your journey into the world of wellness and beauty?

My journey into wellness started with a deep fascination for the connection between beauty, health, emotions, and human energy. Coming from Serbia and later working internationally, I realized wellness is a universal language that transcends culture and geography. Over the years, I became passionate not only about spa operations, but about creating experiences that genuinely improve how people feel  physically, emotionally, and mentally. Luxury wellness gave me the opportunity to combine creativity, hospitality, science, and human connection into one meaningful career.

  • After more than 15 years in luxury spas, medi-spas, and cruise wellness operations, how has your definition of “true wellness” evolved personally and professionally?

At the beginning of my career, wellness was often associated mainly with relaxation and aesthetics. Today, I see true wellness as balance  nervous system regulation, emotional wellbeing, longevity, sleep quality, movement, recovery, purpose, and human connection. Professionally, I believe modern wellness must go beyond trends and focus on measurable results while still preserving the emotional and sensory aspect of care. Personally, I learned that wellness is not perfection; it is consistency, awareness, and creating moments that reconnect us with ourselves.

  • You specialize in creating memorable guest experiences. In your opinion, what transforms a spa treatment from a service into a life-changing wellness experience?

A life-changing wellness experience happens when a guest feels truly seen, understood, and emotionally connected during the journey. Luxury today is no longer only about beautiful facilities  it is about personalization, intention, and emotional impact. The smallest details matter: the therapist’s energy, the consultation, the scent memory, music, touch, storytelling, and the feeling of safety and care. When wellness experiences activate both the body and the emotions, they become transformational rather than transactional.

  • Wellness tourism and longevity programs are growing rapidly worldwide. What trends do you believe will shape the future of luxury wellness over the next decade?

I believe the future of luxury wellness will focus strongly on longevity, recovery, nervous system health, and personalized preventative care. We will continue seeing growth in biohacking, regenerative wellness, sleep optimization, IV therapies, diagnostics, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, contrast therapies, and wellness technologies supported by data intelligence.

At the same time, guests are also seeking authenticity and emotional wellbeing. The future is not only high-tech wellness it is high-touch wellness combined with science. Luxury wellness destinations will increasingly integrate local rituals, cultural healing traditions, mindfulness, and personalized wellness journeys into one holistic experience.

  • You combine aesthetics, wellness, business strategy, and data intelligence in your work. How important is innovation and technology in modern wellness leadership?

Innovation and technology are becoming essential in modern wellness leadership because today’s guests expect personalization, measurable results, efficiency, and elevated experiences. Technology helps us better understand guest behavior, optimize operations, personalize treatments, and create more effective wellness programs.

However, technology should never replace human connection. The most successful wellness concepts will be those that combine advanced innovation with empathy, emotional intelligence, and genuine hospitality.

  • Throughout your international career, what has been the most valuable lesson you’ve learned about human connection and client care?

The most valuable lesson I have learned is that people may forget details, but they never forget how you made them feel. Genuine care, empathy, and presence are incredibly powerful. Whether working with guests, teams, or partners, human connection always remains at the center of exceptional wellness experiences. Listening deeply is often more important than speaking.

  • As a multilingual professional working across diverse cultures, how has cultural diversity influenced your leadership style and approach to wellness?

Working across different cultures taught me adaptability, emotional intelligence, and respect for different perspectives. Wellness means different things to different people, and understanding cultural nuances allows us to create more authentic and inclusive experiences. My leadership style became more empathetic, collaborative, and globally minded because of these international experiences.

  • Many readers aspire to work in the wellness and spa industry. What advice would you give to young professionals who want to build a successful global career in wellness?

Stay curious, continue learning, and never underestimate the importance of emotional intelligence and professionalism. Wellness is a beautiful industry, but it also requires discipline, resilience, leadership, and strong operational knowledge. Learn both the creative and business sides of wellness. Travel if possible, expose yourself to different cultures, and always focus on building genuine relationships. Your reputation and energy will open more doors than titles alone.

  • Balancing leadership, business growth, and personal wellbeing can be challenging. What are your personal rituals or habits that help you stay grounded and energized?

For me, balance comes from small consistent rituals rather than extreme routines. I prioritize movement, mindfulness, quality sleep, hydration, and moments of silence whenever possible. Traveling and high-level leadership can become intense, so I also believe in protecting my energy, spending time near nature or the ocean, and creating moments of stillness to reconnect mentally and emotionally.

  • If you could share one message with readers about beauty, health, and longevity, what would it be?

True beauty and longevity start from how we care for our mind, body, and energy every day. Wellness is not about chasing perfection or youth  it is about vitality, balance, confidence, and feeling aligned with yourself. The future of wellness is not simply living longer, but living better, with purpose, health, and joy.
