We also visited the two restaurants: Teyla, which serves Chinese and Continental cuisine, and Elam, known for its rich Indian dishes. The aroma drifting from the kitchens was irresistible, and I knew the meal ahead would be special and a feast for my taste buds!
When I returned to my room, the mist was rolling in over the hills soft, silent, and magical. My stay had only just begun, yet it already felt special.
During lunch, I met Mr. Alan, a cheerful and energetic food & beverage associate whose bright smile and attentive service added a personal touch to the meal. The food was delicious and mouth watering , but it was the calm, nature-filled atmosphere that made it truly memorable.
After lunch, with only a few hours to spare, I joined Mr. Bibin for a jeep safari through nearby plantations and what an experience it was! We covered nearly 600 acres of green paradise filled with tea, coffee, cardamom, clove, black pepper, and countless fruit trees such as mangosteens and rambutan. The cool mountain air carried the scent of fresh spices, and every turn revealed a new shade of green.
Mr. Bibin explained everything with infectious enthusiasm from how the spices are grown . His love for the land was evident, and it deepened my own appreciation for Kuttikanam’s natural beauty. The breathtaking waterfall – a hidden gem of the resort creates a soothing melody that calms the mind and rejuvenates the soul. As you step into the natural haven, the stresses of the everyday life melt away, leaving you feeling refreshed and revitalized.
We also stopped at a tea factory, where I watched the delicate process of turning tender green leaves into fine, aromatic tea completely natural, with no preservatives or chemicals. It felt like watching art and nature work together in perfect harmony.
By the end of the safari, I realized that one night here simply wasn’t enough. This is the kind of place where you need at least a week to slow down, to breathe, to truly feel the rhythm of nature. For those who practice yoga, meditation, or just enjoy quiet reflection, it’s nothing short of paradise.
Early mornings brought another delight birdwatching. I spotted the vibrant Malabar Whistling Thrush, and listened to their calls echo across the valleys. Later, I tried mountain biking through spice-scented trails, the wind in my face and freedom in every turn.
